Class Pricing with Northern Nurture Birthwork
NNBW uses a voluntary sliding scale payment model.
This model allows you to choose the tier that is most suitable for:
- your individual financial situation
- the value you place on your training and instructor
This model is built on trust. All families will receive the same high quality childbirth class no matter what tier they select.
-
Tier I - Community Care
$275 — This rate prioritizes families navigating financial barriers and does not reflect the true cost of the class.
-
Tier II - Sustainability
$325 — This rate reflects the true cost of the class and fairly compensates my time and expertise.
-
Tier III - Solidarity
$375 — This rate covers the true cost of the class, allows me to earn a higher wage, and directly supports my capacity to offer Tier I pricing.
-
Tier IV - Birth Justice
$400 — This rate covers everything included in Tier III, plus funds expanded scholarship offerings for families of color, LGBTQIA+ families, and families who belong to other historically marginalized communities.
-
Unsure what tier best suits you?
Please reference The Green Bottle graphic, a helpful visual aid by Alexis J. Cunningfolk that guides you to where you land on sliding scale payment models.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the earliest and latest I can sign up for a class?
You are welcome to join any class in relation to your estimated due date, but it is best if you start your class between 24 and 32 weeks.
Registration closes 3 days before the class begins.
Please note that any printed workbooks ordered within 10 days of the class start date may arrive late, so I encourage you to register early!
All participants have access to an e-workbook through the EBB® Childbirth Class website.
If you’re excited to join but miss the registration deadline, please email me. Life happens, and I’ll do my best to work something out. Late fees, private make-up sessions, or additional requirements may apply.
Can’t I just educate myself online using Google and social media?
A lot of that info you find online about pregnancy and birth? It’s inaccurate, incomplete, opinion-based, or all three!
The benefit of the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class is that we curate all of the best, evidence-based information for you. We won’t tell you what to do or how to birth; we will make sure you have all the most accurate information possible to make your own informed decision. No fear mongering or advertising!
You can ask your experienced Evidence Based Birth® Instructor questions any time, meaning you’ll have a real, living, breathing person (and mother!) to mentor you through the process of learning a new wealth of information.
Shouldn’t I just let the doctors and nurses tell me what to do?
Routine practices in some hospitals are still about 15 to 20 years behind the research, and there is a lot of pressure to conform to traditions that might not be in your best interest.
Even the most well-meaning, kind, and gentle providers are still practicing within a system that is not built for individualized care or birth that falls outside its own definition of “normal”… take it from me, a former high-risk labor nurse!
The EBB® Childbirth Class will teach you and your partner how to be your own advocates and respectfully speak up for your family’s needs. This is a skill you will use for the rest of your life!
This class doesn't work for my schedule or estimated due date
If I have enough interest and availability, I may open an additional group series, including in-person classes. Private classes are also available at an additional fee!
Email me at northernnurturebirthwork@gmail.com and we will work something out.
I am a birth professional (doula, childbirth educator, physician, etc), can I audit your Childbirth Class?
Yes! Limited seats may be available for audit. A materials fee applies for all audit options. Your employer may pay for your audit as continuing education. Email me at northernnurturebirthwork@gmail.com to inquire.
